Custom Chimney Shrouds

Chimney Shrouds, also called chimney caps, chimney pots, chimney covers, can be used as a decorative or functional top for a chimney. Not only do these caps serve the purpose of protecting the top of a chimney, it also can add a beautiful aesthetic to a home’s roof line. All Salvo Metal Works chimney shrouds are made to order by our in-house fabricators.

Expertly crafted from high-quality materials, these products are designed to shield your chimney from the elements while adding a refined aesthetic touch. Whether you’re looking to prevent water infiltration, block debris, or improve draft performance, our custom solutions provide both functionality and style. With various designs and finishes available, each piece is tailored to complement your architectural vision and ensure long-lasting durability. Over time, the copper naturally develops a beautiful patina, adding a timeless, rustic charm to your home’s roofline while maintaining its structural integrity.

Custom Cupolas

Cupolas are a sophisticated architectural feature often used in high-end homes to add both elegance and functionality to the roofline. These structures, typically perched at the highest point of the roof, are designed to enhance the home’s exterior by introducing a timeless and refined element of design. Cupolas can be crafted in various shapes, including square, round, or octagonal, and are made from premium materials such as copper, lead-coated copper, freedom gray copper, zinc, or aluminum which age beautifully over time and complement the luxurious aesthetic of upscale homes.

Functionally, cupolas allow hot air to escape from attics or large spaces, improving airflow and reducing moisture buildup. Aesthetically, they add charm and elegance, often featuring windows, louvers, or intricate details that complement the building’s design. Cupolas can be custom-made to fit any style, from rustic to contemporary, making them a versatile architectural feature that enhances both the form and function of a roofline. Beyond their visual appeal, cupolas serve practical purposes by providing natural ventilation and allowing sunlight to filter into the interior. In larger estates, they may function as focal points for grand entryways, gazebos, or garden structures, often featuring intricate details like arched windows, louvers, or decorative finials. Weathervanes of various styles can be added atop these structures. Custom-designed to match the architectural style of each home, cupolas add a distinctive touch of sophistication and are an enduring symbol of luxury and craftsmanship.

Custom Dormers

Dormers are architectural features that extend vertically from a sloped roof, usually housing a window or vent, and are clad in copper or other durable metals. Dormers add functional space to the upper levels of a building, often increasing natural light and ventilation in attics or top-floor rooms. Copper dormers, specifically, stand out due to their unique aesthetic appeal and practical benefits.

Zinc and copper dormers combine beauty, durability, and sustainability, making them a valuable addition to both traditional and modern architecture.

Custom Finials

Elevate your architecture with Salvo Metal Works’ Finials where beauty meets functionality. Designed to accentuate the apex of turrets, ridgelines, towers, and gables, our finials come in a variety of shapes and sizes to suit any style.

Originally crafted to solve water seepage issues on round roofs, finials have evolved into stunning decorative features, gracing iconic architectural styles from Gothic to Renaissance. At SMW, we take it a step further by offering customizable finials that not only enhance your structure’s visual appeal but also incorporate lightning protection systems for added safety. Trust in centuries of design influence with modern-day innovation.

Custom Leader Boxes

There are many names for leader boxes, sometimes called scupper boxes, rain collectors and collector boxes. Leader boxes all serve the same function — they aid in the collection of rain water to give downspouts time to drain excessive rain. We can also design them as a decorative attachment to downspouts.

Custom Roof Vents

Custom Roof Vents Gallery
Roof vents serve two main purposes: air intake and exhaust. They come in many different shapes and sizes. Intakes are usually placed in the soffit area, but sometimes are placed on the roof near the eave. The exhaust vent is found near the ridge of the roof and is sometimes integrated into the roof system on top of the ridge.

Custom Snow Guards

Snow Guards are designed to hold snow or ice packs that develop on the roof and allow them to melt rather than avalanche. This avalanching snow can cause damage to gutters, landscaping and anything else around the perimeter of a home.
